We have always had aspirations for Paladar to be more than just a great neighbourhood restaurant.
We regard it as a centre of excellence showcasing the best Latin American food, drinks AND culture.
We always play Latin American music (and have occasional live performances).
We also have regular changing exhibitions of original art and photography by Latin American artists or work inspired by Latin America on our walls – all of which of for sale.
The Blue Wall in the Bodega is also home to a seasonally-changing mural of Irma Pellegrini’s “Little Wooden People”, which are also for sale.
During the past year we have featured artists from Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina and Chile. Our first photographic exhibition, held in the Spring of 2019, was entitled ‘Cubanistas’ by British Photographer, Rama Knight.
We are currently showing original works by Ecuadorian artist, Gabriel Ortiz, in a very personal exhibition of works in a surrealistic style entitled “The Beginning”.
If you are interested in performing or exhibiting at Paladar, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always looking for new talent!
Latin America has no shortage of national days, special drinks days and other excuses for a party! We mark a selection of these throughout the year with special promotions and events and also feature ‘private views’ and ‘meet the artist’ afternoons relating to our art and photography exhibitions.
For advanced notice of these events, keep an eye on our social media accounts or sign up for out occasional newsletters.
We can also offer Paladar for your own special events and parties. We have hosted a number of private parties and canapé receptions in the Bodega, the garden and in the rear section of the restaurant. A full venue hire is also possible. Please see below for our Canapés Menu. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information and let us help you make your celebration one to remember (for all the right reasons!)
