Frequently Asked Questions

Our kitchen is 100% gluten-free and our food is therefore ideal for coeliacs. From the bar most drinks are gluten-free. We do have one gluten-free beer and our Mexican whiskey is made from corn, is is also suitable for coeliacs.

Is very important that we know if you have any allergies. We will normally always check when we seat you and before we take your order. Whilst we take great care to avoid cross-contamination, please note we cannot guarantee that there are no traces of nuts or other allergens in any of out food.

Some dishes are more spicy than others, but our cuisine is generally very approachable and although we use chillies (aji) the spiciness is not in the same league as some African dishes. In many cases we can put spicy sauces on the side. Our Staff are ready to assist in this respect and make suggestions.

We do not have a special children’s menu. Our dishes are designed to be shared, so children can participate in the discovery of the food and try several different dishes. As above, our staff can make recommendations, and we can put sauces on the side if necessary.

Chef Jose’s Tasting Menu must be requested when booking, and the last sitting for the Tasting Menu is at 8.15pm (6.15pm on Sundays). This is partly because we recommend a minimum of two-and-a-half hours to enjoy the Tasting Menu. Because it is presented as a series of small courses we cannot mix-and-match the Tasting Menu with the Daily Menu on any one table. Please note: whilst we will always try to accommodate guests who would like to have the Tasting Menu, it is sometimes not possible on very busy Friday or Saturday evenings to offer it.
